He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a civilian employee of Tinker AFB for 28 years. On Jan 15, 1951, Mr. Bybee married a mother with seven children, Ora Stillwell, who died in 1981.
A farmer for many years, he never lost his love of the land and his passion for gardening. He was an officer in the Bybee Drilling Company of Higgins, Texas.
Mr. Bybee was a long-time member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, which he supported financially and with faithful attendance. He lived in Bethany, OK, for almost half a century, and was widely known and loved for his generosity and gentleness. He was vigorous and healthy throughout his long life.
Alvis Bybee is survived by a nephew, Harvey, and sister-in-law, Nellie; two grandnieces Darla Dourghty and Cindy Weese; seven children, Howell Horn and Bonnie Mitchell; Juanita Guiterrez; Emma Jean Miller; James Cecil Horn; Gertrude Stillwell White; and Ben Stillwell; 20 granchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
He leaves a legacy of faithfulness, cheerfulness, and a life lived in contentment and love.
