Ervin L. Klecker, age 71, passed away on Friday, March 8, 1996 at his home. He was born on July 13, 1924 in Marshall, the son of Louis and Margaret (Jana) Klecker. He was a graduate of the Marshall High School. On October 11, 1969 he married Hazel Smithback at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on December 6, 1995. He had farmed in the Marshall area all of his life. He was the assessor for the Town of Medina for many years and Secretary of the Medina Mutual Insurance Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Forresters. Survivors include his brothers and sisters, LeRoy (Jo) of Marshall, Marie Klecker of Sun City, AZ, Louis of Marshall, Margie (Wally) Peck of Marshall, and Francis (Judy) of Lake Tomahawk, WI; his step-children, Dennis (Beverly) Smithback of Deerfield, Duane (Ellen Banuelous) Smithback of Cottage Grove, and Mark (Julie) Smithback of Marshall; step-grandchildren, Stacy and Mike Davis, Kelly, Dennis, Kirsten, Adam, and Paige Smithback, and Felipe and Leta Banuelous; step-great grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle Davis, and Brianna Banuelous; ten nieces and nephews; two grandnephews; a grandniece; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 11, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marshall, with Monsignor Raymond Haas officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hart-Vick Funeral Home in Marshall, and on Monday after 10:00 a.m. at the church. A rosary will be held on Sunday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. WSJ 3/9/1996
