SWITCHMAN DIES OF INJURIES
Noah Mark Was a Resident of Arthur Township for Many Years.
Mark Noah, 33 years old, a Pere Marquette railway switchman and father of four children, died Thursday morning at St. Mary's hospital where he was taken shortly before midnight Wednesday after an accident at the Eighth street crossing, Saginaw.
Both of his legs were crushed at the thighs when he fell beneath a coal car being switched near the Eighth street yards. Hospital attaches held little hope for his life and fearing fatal results physicians were unable to amputate the crushed limbs.
Mr. Noah was born in Edon, O., Sept. 5, 1S92, and in 1915 at Cadillac, Mich., married Miss Eleanor J. Blacklidge, who survive him together with the following children: Gerald, Aria, Galon and Harlan Mark, all at home. Other survivors are five sisters, Mrs. Maggie Royal, Saginaw; Mrs. Floyd- Johnson, Rockford; Mrs, John Custer, Lansing; Mrs. Adam Kuster, Detroit, and Mrs. Andrew Maier, Toledo. Mr. Noah lived on a farm near the Hardwood school house for years, moving to Saginaw about four years ago.
Funeral services took place at 10 o'clock Saturday morning from the residence.
He was a member of the Saginaw No. 110 of the Switchman's union and four members accompanied the remains to Clare Saturday morning, where they were met by representatives of John Q. Look lodge No. 404 F. & A. M. Short services were conducted at Cherry Grove by Rev. H. B. Johnson. (The Clare Sentinel, p. 1 – Clare, MI – 24 December 1926)
