Willard Fountain Davis, 41 died Wednesday night , December 31, 1975, as a result of an automobile accident. Mr. Davis, who worked for Lincoln Income Life Insurance Company in Campbellsville, was married to the former Mildred Dickens. He is survived by his wife and his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Cassius Davis of 107 Hord Street, Campbellsville, Ky. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Davis Arnold of Fort Hood, Texas, and Miss Patricia Lynn Davis of Campbellsville. His Masonic funeral was at 2:00 p.m. , Saturday , January 3, 1976 , at the Lyon Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Rev. George Young officiated. Burial was at the Masonic Gardens in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were from the Masonic Pitman Lodge 124, Campbellsville. ~CKNJ, Monday, January 5, 1976.
A 41 -year-old Taylor County man died Wednesday when his car ran off the road and struck a tree, 2-1/2 miles west of Greensburg on KY 88. Police say Willard Davis 122 Greenhill Drive, Campbellsville, died of head and chest injuries at about 8:15 CST Wednesday night. Davis, who was driving a 1974 four-door Ford, " wasn't off the road more than 10 or 12 feet when he hit the tree", one observer said, adding that the tree is located in Paulie McAfee's yard. Davis was dead when authorities arrived at the scene. No other vehicles or persons were reportedly involved in the accident, which was the second traffic fatality in Green County in December . " The road was slick and it was a bad night " the same observed noted. State Trooper Tim Minor investigated.
