Funeral services for George Lawrence Bate, 55, of 334 North Fifth East St., who died early Wednesday morning at a local hospital after an extended illness, will be conducted Friday at 1 pm in the Logan Eighteenth Ward by Bishop Edgar Mitchell of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Burial will be in the family plot of the Logan City Cemetery.
Mr. Bate was born Jan. 24, 1894, a son of George Lorenzo and Abbie Lawrence [Lewis] Bate. He was married to Leola Faylor Aug. 1, 1923, in Logan.
Surviving are his widow of Logan, two sons, M. Craig Bate, Logan, and George Dean Bate, Salt Lake City, two brothers, Lorenzo Bate, Salt Lake City, and Lester [Lewis] Bate, California, two sisters, Mrs. Jack Purdie, Minden, Nev., and Miss Ruth [Lewis] Bate, California.
