Sarah Jane Bellamy Brown, 86, of Franklin County, Georgia died Wednesday February 20, 1935. She had been ill for about two months with cancer of the throat and death was not unexpected. She was one of Franklin county's most beloved women and during her long and useful life had brought much happiness into the lives of those about her. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church having professed her faith and united with the church during her childhood. She was in constant in her attendance upon church and Sunday School as long as health permitted. She was devoted to her family and obliging to her neighbors. Sarah was wife to the late Robert A. R.A.M. Brown and deceased by one son Tom Thurmond Brown. Mrs. Brown is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bettie Ann Taylor, Mrs. Seppie Serrepta Bratcher, six sons, Franklin Monroe Brown, Alabama, Alexander R. Brown, Ashland, Georgia, Morgan J. Brown, Carnesville, Georgia, William O. Brown, Macon, Georgia, John Coffee Brown, Canon, Georgia, and Robert Dillard Brown, Carnesville, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. P.D. Whiten, Toccoa, Georgia, two brothers, H.F. and J.W. Bellamy, Carnesville, Georgia. She also leaves 40 grandchildren 74 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. These and other relatives have the sympathy of their friends. Funeral services for Sarah were held at Liberty Baptist Church Thursday, February 21, 1935 with S.E. Macomson and Rev. Yearwood conducting the services. Interment was in the church cemetery. With her grandchildren acting as pallbearers and Albert Andrews and Mrs. John Cole had charge of the music.
