Leokadya was born in Poland to Ignatius Andrzejewski and Josepha Boinska. She cane to America as an infant, settling in Manitowoc, Wisconsin with siblings Walter, Frank(Franziak), Stanislau and Valerian. She moved with her family To Chicago about 1880 where siblings Felix, Andrew, John and Julian we're born. Stanislau and Julian died as toddlers. Valerian was alive in 1901 at a baptism of nephew John in Chicago but no further information is available.
