Herbert Anklam, 71, of Pickett, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh.

Born Feb. 6, 1899, in the Town of Utica, he was the son of Adolph and Augusta Falk Anklam. He was educated in Winnebago County Schools and lived in the Pickett area all his life. There he was proprietor of a grocery store and filling station for *0 years. He married Dorothy Kaiser March 18, 1944. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church at Pickett and a past director of the Pickett State Bank.

Mr. Anklam is survived by his widow, one brother, Roy of Pickett, five sisters, Mrs. Irene Nahm and Mrs. Richard Steinhilber of Milwaukee, Mrs. Hilda Kloehn, Mrs. Louis Miller both of Ripon, and Mrs. William Gallert of Pickett.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grave Lutheran Church, Pickett, with Pastor Elmer Semenske of Ripon and the Rev. Alvin Aichele officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Pickett.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon.
