Death came to Mr. Coleman about 15 miles north of Fort Collins, Colo., as he was being transported by ambulance from Estes Park, COlo., to Cheyenne, Wyo. where a chartered plane was waiting to fly him to Chicago where he was to enter Presbyterian hospital. Mrs. Coleman and a doctor were with him in the ambulance when death occurred.
Mr. Coleman, together with Mrs. Coleman and their daughter, Mrs. Coleman Harmon, had been vacationing at Estes Park.
Born in Springfield, the son of Louis Harrison and Jenny B. Logan Coleman, prominent early day residents of Springfield. Graduated from the Lawrenceville preparatory school in 1892 and from Princeton University in 1896. Spent two years in the west before returning to Springfield where he became associated with the Illinois National bank. Became cashier of the bank in January 1915. Named president of the bank in January 1925 and held that post until his death.
Served as treasurer of the Sangamon County Red Cross. Trustee of First Christian church and treasurer of the Washington Street Mission.
Survived by his wife and daughter, granddaughter; brother Louis G. Coleman of Los Angeles.
