Mrs. Abigail C. Litton
Mrs. Abigail Chambers Litton, 96, of 459 Kentucky Ave., died at 7:40 a.m. today at Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital after an illness of one week.
Mrs. Litton was born Oct. 17, 1879, in Scott County, Tenn., but has lived here since 1913. She was the widow of Horace Maynard Litton, a former Southern Railway System engineer. Mrs. Litton was a member of the First Church of God.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. W. D. Laxton, Mrs J. W. Newby and Mrs. Arnold Lay, all of Danville, and Mrs. Olive Sjoberg of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sons, Horace M. Litton of Danville and F.D. Litton of Saint Helen, Mich.; 18 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Church of God with the Rev. Wayne Edie officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after noon Thursday at Stith Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for the funeral of Mrs. Abigail Chambers Litton at 2 p.m. Friday will be her grandsons, Robert Newby, Virgil and Curtis Litton, and Bill, Jimmie and Gerald Lay. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Litton, 96, of 459 Kentucky Ave., died Wednesday. Rites will be conducted at the First Church of God. Friends may call a Stith Funeral Home.
