On Saturday evening, Mrs. Orpha Nixon, widow of the late John Nixon, died at her home with her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Buffington, No. 319 Dean street, West Chester, at an advanced age, after an illness of nearly a year. During the past few days her sufferings have been very intense, but she bore up patiently, and was conscious until the last moments. She was well and favorably known to many of our older citizens. Her husband died a number of years ago. They for many years resided on East Market street. The deceased is survived by one son, a railroad engineer, who does not now reside here, and three daughters, namely, Mrs. Edward Rambler, Mrs. George Reeves, and Mrs. Joseph Buffington, at whose home she has resided for several years. Mrs. Nixon was a conscientious Christian woman, with many good traits.
