Mrs.Myrtle Sarah Myers, 84, of 102 Chipeta Ave., died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday at Teller Arms Nursing Home. She had been ill for 5 weeks.
She was born Myrtle Sarah Campbell at Honey Grove, Tex., on Feb. 28, 1880, and had spent her childhood at Placerville. She married Charles Burdette Myers at Gunnison on Dec. 23, 1897. Mr. Myers, an engineer for the D&RG, died on April 7, 1950.
Mrs. Myers had lived at Gunnison, Rifle, Cedaredge, Delta, and Montrose, but had spent most of her life in Grand Junction. She was a member of the First Assembly of God church here.
She is survived by two sons, Earl R. Myers, Oakland, Calif.; and Charles W. Myers, Lomita, Calif., also by two daughters, Mrs. Vic (Nina) Ekenberg, Lomita, and Mrs. Roy (Charlene) Jordan, Salt Lake City. Her brothers are Claude M. Campbell, San Hose, Calif.; Avery W. Campbell, Redvale Calif.; Jess J. Campbell of 1002 Gunnison Ave., Grand Junction.; Rolly G. Campbell, Redvale. Her sisters are Mrs. Barbara L. Howard, 259 Allyce Ave.; Mrs. Cecil Whitcomb, 2747 Olson Ave.; and Mrs. Clarence Ross, 952 Unaweep Ave., all in Grand Junction. She had 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2p.m. Tuesday at Martin Mortuary, with the Rev. Lester Binkley officiating. Burial will be at Cedaredge.
