Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Bateman was born Nov. 28, 1927, in Amite County, the son of Robert Hughey Bateman and Gladys Timms Bateman. He was a member of Natchez Church of God of Prophecy. He was retired from International Paper Company after 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Elese Bateman; and brothers, Moselle Bateman, Linus Bateman and James Bateman.
Survivors include his sons, Ricky Delvin Bateman and Clifton Mark Bateman, both of Natchez; granddaughter, Renee Bateman; and great-granddaughter, Saige Caviness, both of Brandon.
