Her death a result of Grippe.
Ellicott City, Jan 15 - Mrs Juliana Howell Martin, wife of Dr Isaac J Martin, of this city, died at 2am this morning in the 71st year of her age. Mrs Martin had been in feeble health for the past four years, the result of a paralytic stroke.
A week ago, she was attacked with what was supposed to be "in grippe". This was followed by symptoms of pneumonia, increasing in seriousness until her death this morning.
Mrs Martin's maiden name was "Abbey". She was a native of New York. She married Dr Martin, a native of Philadelphia, in the latter city, October 15, 1839.
For over 40 years, Dr and Mrs Martin have been residents of Endicott City, the former having in that time amassed a competency as a medical practitioner and as a compounder of proprietary remedies. Tho deceased was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for 40 years, her husband having been ordained as a Minister in that church early in life.
Sister: Mrs Louis Brown of Chicago, who left for the West last week.
Sister: Miss Jennie Abbey of Germantown, PA
Brother: Wm M Abbey of Media, PA
Mrs Martin was extensively connected in New York and Pennsylvania. Four of the eight children of the deceased are now living:
