Alford "Al" Patrick Baxley Jr., 64, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at home. He was born April 27, 1936, in the Rose Hill Community of Georgetown County, a son of the late Alford Patrick Baxley Sr. and Oletta Carraway Baxley.
He was a truck driver and retired from Lambert Trucking Company in March of 2000. He was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and the Puncheon Creek Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Swails Baxley; a son, Alford Patrick "Rick'' Baxley III of Andrews; a daughter, Cindy B. Lynch of Andrews; a sister, Joy B. White of Sumter; two brothers, Chuck Baxley of Hickory, N.C., and Vernon Baxley of Georgetown; and four grandchildren, Tasha L. Shelley, Foster Lynch, Sean Baxley and Taylor Baxley, all of Andrews. He was predeceased by a sister, Ann B. Causey.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Mayer Funeral Home in Andrews. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Rev. David R. Richardson will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.
