William E. Abbott, 89, 100 Exeter street, died Wednesday morning at the family home following a long illness. Born in Hancock, Me., he resided in this city for the past 65 years.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Evelyn R. (Landers) Abbott; a daughter, Lillian of this city; a son, Herbert M. of Wollaston, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Merchant and Mrs. Ella Wooster, both of Watertown, four grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the late home Friday afternoon with services at 2 o'clock. Rev. Gilbert Wieting, Ph.D., pastor of Central Methodist church, will officiate. Cremation will take place in Harmony Grove Salem.

Friends may call at the late home Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services for William E. Abbott, 100 Exeter Street, who died Wednesday, were held at the late home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Gilbert Wieting, Ph.D., pastor of Central Methodist church, officiating. Cremation took place in Harmony Grove Salem, where Rev. Dr. Wieting conducted committal services.

The bearers were: William Alexander, Samuel Priestly, Edwin L. Bramley and Herbert M. Abbott.
