Confederate Army Officer. A graduate of the University of Mississippi and a member of the Louisiana bar, he helped organize the Franklin Sharpshooters in 1861 and became a Captain in the 8th Louisiana Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to Major and wounded at Fredericksburg in 1863. Promoted to Colonel during the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863, he was killed on the battlefield during the Battle of Cold Harbor in 1864.
