"DEATH OF MINISTER WELSH'S SISTER
Mrs. Elizabeth W. Horner, sister of Hon. John Welsh, died suddenly at her residence, 2089 Delancy Place, on Thursday, in the seventy-ninth year of her age. She was the widow of William E. Horner, M. D., once profesor in the University of Pennsylvania, and the author of a number of medical works."

The Baltimore Sun, 7-12-1879:
Mrs. Elizabeth W. Horner, widow of Wm. E. Horner, M.D., late Professor of Anatomy in the University of Pennsylvania, and sister of Hon. John Welsh, minister to England, died in Philadelphia Thursday, in the 79th year of her age. Since Mr. Welsh has been abroad there have been three deaths in the family. First was that of his brother, Mr. William Welsh, who died last year, while several weeks ago Mrs. Anna Welsh Lapsley, widow of Mr. David Lapsley, a sister of Mr. Welsh, died in the 83d year of her age. The decease of Mrs. Horner makes the third death.
