CLYDE - Derrel Lee Black, 73 of Clyde, died Friday at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Clyde with Dr. Toby Henson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Mr. Black was born November 30, 1932 in Iraan, Texas to Charles Brewster and Mattie Lorene (Parker) Black. He grew up in Eastland and graduated from Eastland High School in 1952. He married Wanda Mae Williamson on January 14, 1956 in Denver City. They moved to Clyde in December, 1986. Mr. Black was employed by El Paso Natural Gas as a Plant Operator for 30 years, having worked in Kermit, Crane, Denver City, Oil Center, NM and Midkiff. He was a member of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a 32nd degree Mason, having served as the Worshipful Master in the Sprayberry Lodge at Midkiff. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clyde.
