Dale Autry Crawford, age 68 and a former resident of Seminole County and a resident of Broken Bow, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Solara Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Konawa, Oklahoma. Rev. Mona Fulks will officiate. Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.

Dale was born on June 7, 1943 in Wright City, Oklahoma to Lee H. Crawford and Beatrice Laverne (Sims) Crawford. He married Shirley Lollis on November 26, 1962 in Brownfield, Texas.

Dale spent his early years bull riding and was a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion two years in a row. He also was in the Civil Air Patrol where he searched for downed airplanes. Many Times he parachuted to the locations of the downed planes. Dale was a long distance truck driver for 35 years until he became disabled in his late forties. Dale loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Crawford of the home; three daughters, Shirley L. Crawford of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Sharon Crawford Denton and husband, Guy Denton, Sr. of Konawa, Oklahoma, and Debra Cooper, also of Konawa; one adopted son, Tim E. Bridgement, II; three sisters, Earlene Gladwell of Belen, New Mexico, Darlene Elliott of Los Lunas, New Mexico, and Lucille Crosby, also of New Mexico; two brothers, Lloyd "Spyder" Crawford of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Arley Crawford of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee H. Crawford and Beatrice Crawford; one son, Dale Autry Crawford, Jr.; one daughter, Wanda Lee Ann Quintrell; one sister, Marzell Martin; and two brothers, Lee H. Crawford, Jr. and Manuel Crawford.
