Albert Methus was born to Tore and Olenna Peterson Methus at Hanlontown. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. At the age of two he was taken into the Ole Peterson home and raised to manhood. A lifelong resident of Hanlontown, he was a veteran of World War I and retired from farming in 1946.
Methus was taken ill while fishing on Rice Lake on Thursday afternoon and died early the following morning, June 26, at Mason City Hospital.
Funeral services were held at Grace Lutheran Church. Officiating was the Rev. H. E. Sutter. Members of the American Legion took part in the flag folding ceremony at the cemetery. Burial was at Brush Point Cemetery.
