Donald Earl Okins Sr., was born March 10th, 1920 in his parents rural Wabasso home. The son of Clarence and Agnes (Allen) Okins. Don married Evelyn Frederiksen August 25th, 1946 at the First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls. The couple lived east of Redwood Falls in a country school they remodeled on the banks of the Crow Creek. Some of Don's first jobs were a Morton school bus driver, manager of National T grocery store, Wilcox Hardware delivery truck driver. Don was a life time employee of Montgomery Wards in the appliance, furniture and flooring departments in the Redwood Falls and New Ulm stores. Don was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church, Redwood Falls American Legion, Life time member of the VFW, World War II Veteran and very proud to serve his country. Don enjoyed camping in northern Minnesota, picking rocks along the north shore drive and a number of winters in Mesa, AZ.

Okins Jr., Redwood Falls and his daughter Tammy Cecchini, husband Dave, children Evan and Will of Charleston, S.C., Daughter Kay (Okins) Peters, Redwood Falls and husband Bill, children Billy of Redwood Falls, Bob and his wife Kelly, children Abbie and Maddie of Oliva. Becky Kleinhuizen, husband Mike, children Zak and Izzy of Redwood Falls. Daughter-in-law Linda Okins, Redwood Falls and children Tom and friend Krista Nelson of St. Paul, Bob and friend Allyson Schroeder and their daughter Kimora of Redwood Falls. Son Gary Okins of Owatonna and his daughter Nicole of Brandon, S.D.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, infant twin son Gerry, son Larry, brother Doug Okins, sister Della (Okins) Roushar, sister Doris (Okins) Sowder, infant granddaughter Cassandra Kay Peters and his parents.
