BOWDOINHAM - Margaret E. Parsons, 90, formerly of Gorham, died Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Richmond Eldercare facility. Born in Windham, she was a daughter of Charles P. and Alice Shaw Kelley. She attended Windham schools and was a lifelong homemaker and also helped out on the family farm.

Margaret and her first husband, Marshall Wilson, organized and led the Pioneer 4H Steer Club in Bowdoinham. They also taught square dancing in their home to many of the young people in Richmond and Bowdoinham.

She had been active in the Richmond Corner Grange, the Progressive Grange, the Windham Helping Hands Club and the Bowdoinham Snowmobile Club. Laura. In later years, still hunting in her 80s, she would load up and head out with her niece, Dawn.

She was predeceased by her husband, Millard; sister Alice DeCosta; brother Richard Kelley and wife Ruth; and stepbrother Kenneth Gilman.

Surviving her are her son, Alton "Riley" Wilson and his wife, Christine, of Bowdoinham; stepdaughter Carol Chapman and her husband, Clyde, and their family; stepsons Dennis Parsons and his wife, Elaine, and their family, Steven Parsons and his wife, DeeDee, and their children, Bruce and Cathy and great grandson, Danny; grandchildren Daniel Wilson, Josie McGaw and husband Ben; two great grandsons, Luke and Aiden; brother Lloyd "Buster" Gilman of Windham, stepsister Helen Beal of Windham; niece Dawn Finnerty and husband Richard and nephew, Stephen Kelley.

A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Gorham. (Kennebec Journal 3/26/2012)
