She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Jean Capp, Indianapolis, Mrs. Alice Leonard, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Nelle Moss, Horse Cave, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Constance J., Frederica B. and C. Adele Capp, Charles S., M. Christine and Ann B. Leonard, and Linda A. and Jean C. Moss; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Clara Jenney of Kalamazoo, Mich.
Funeral services will be conducted at The Meeks Mortuary at 11 a.m. Saturday by Dr. Lewis Weber Gishler of the Presbyterian Church. Entombment will be made in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Charles M. Dragoo, William P. Givens, J. Everett Johnson, Paul B. McCreery, Floyd McWilliam, Howard B. Shriner, James O. Timbrook, and H.E. Woods.
Mrs. Bernard had been a resident of Muncie since 1915 when she and Mr. Bernard were married at Pontiac, Mich. She was born at Clare, Mich., Dec. 29, 1889, the daughter of Rollin H. and Sarah E. Jenney. Her older brother, Earl Burton Jenney, mysteriously vanished around 1930 and was presumed dead. Her father was prominently identified in the iron and lumber industries. She attended National Seminary in Washington after graduating from Pontiac High School.
She was prominent in Muncie society during all her residence here. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and its Flower Mission; the Matinee Musicale, Delaware Country Club, the Research Club and the Ball Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, of which she was the first life member.
