Joseph A. Beebe, 81, a resident of Westminster Village, died Friday in the health center there after an extended illness.
He was born near Sandy Lake, Pa., and moved to Muncie at an early age. He resided in Indianapolis from 1962 to 1979 at which time he returned to Muncie.
He graduated from Muncie High School and from the Purdue School of Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Mr. Beebe was employed at Cincinnati Milling Machine Co. and was managing director of the manufacturing plants for the company in Birmingham, England. He retired in 1961 after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Muncie Lodge 433 F&AM.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Sutton Beebe; one brother, Ralph E. Beebe, Athens, Ga., and one sister, Alice Zimmerman, Fort Wayne.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Parson Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Charles Reese officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call before services Sunday.
