Alamo Defender. In the 1830s he, his son Joseph, his brother and nephews immigrated to Texas and received land in Red River County. He and Joseph served in the Texas army during the Texas Revolution. As a member of the Alamo garrison, he died in the battle of the Alamo. His son who was with General Houston’s army at the time survived the war.
