Bobby Brinkman, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 22, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.

Bobby was born Jan. 18, 1942, in Vernalis, Calif. After graduating from Tracy High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Candy Allen, and lived in Tracy for many years farming and land surveying. They had one son, Kevin. In 1970, he moved to Idaho, where he surveyed and farmed with his family until 1984. Upon his return to California, he continued his career of land surveying. He retired in 2007.

Bobby was loved by everyone he met. He was an outstanding cook, loved to barbeque, and nobody could make a better lemon meringue pie.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and tending to his palm trees.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Annette Brinkman of Manteca, Calif.; his son, Kevin Brinkman (Sandy) of Salida, Calif.; his grandchildren, Zackary Brinkman (Jennifer), Amie McGee and Ryan McGee; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Delores Phillips (John); and his brothers, Donald Brinkman (Janice), Roger Brinkman (Priscilla) and Dan Brinkman.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Candy Brinkman; and his parents, Fredo and Nettie Brinkman.

Bobby Brinkman was a loving and caring person and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Salida Christian Fellowship, 4936 Washington St. in Salida, Calif.
