Daughter of Alamo defender Dolphin Ward Floyd. Following the fall of the Alamo the wives of many of the defenders fled the advancing army.

"At the crossing of the Brazos their cart overturned and all, including a baby a few days old (born during this flight), were spilled into the water." (Dewitt Colonists 1828 Biographical Sketches)

The baby mentioned here is Elizabeth Whitfield Floyd. She survived the spill, lived to be a young adult and married William K Hargis. She died at the birth of her first baby, along with the baby, and they are interred together.
