MRS. ABBIE MONTEITH
Shelbina, Mo., Jan 9. — Mrs. Abbie Ruth Monteith died Monday night at 10:20 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Bragg. Mrs. Monteith came to Shelbina 26 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Mrs. Monteith was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Martin, born Feb 13, 1855 at Fulton, Ill. She married W. H. Monteith Dec. 24, 1872. He died in 1939.
There are nine living children, Mrs. W. D. Richardson and Guy and James Monteith, of Iowa, Mrs. J. S. Fader of Yates Center, Kas., Carl and Herm Monteith of South Dakota, Miss Gladys Monteith of Kansas City, Mrs. Herbert Padget of Silvis, Ill., and Mrs. Walter Bragg, Winnie Monteith and a grandson, Roger, who made his home with them in Shelbina. There are also 32 grandchildren, 13 in the service and 36 great-grandchildren.
