"Daniel D. Campbell has answered "taps." Mr. Campbell served in the civil war as a member of the 42nd Wisconsin and received a bullet in his right leg in one of the battles. Deceased was over 70 years of age, and had lived on a farm 4 miles west of the village for more than half a century." He was the son of William & Jane Walker Campbell. Mr. Campbell was married 4 July,1866 to Elizabeth Lewis, daughter of Admiral & Miranda Lewis of Easton, Wisconsin.
