Kennie was active in Georgetown, serving as Vice-President of the First National Bank in Georgetown for 34 years until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Georgetown Country Club, the Georgetown Optimist Club and the First United Methodist Church in Georgetown. He was an avid golfer and was especially proud of the two holes-in-one that he achieved during his lifetime.
Kennie is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, and his daughter, Rebecca Wilcox Cockrum. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his grandsons, a granddaughter and great-granddaughters, along with a host of loving family and friends.
