Mrs. Christina Wolfe, 97 years old, wife of the late George Wolfe, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mollie Shaw, in La Monte, at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon, after a month's illness.
Born in Wayne county, Ohio, October 3, 1847, she came to Missouri in 1884. With the exception of 28 years spent in Eldorado Springs, her life in Missouri was spent in La Monte. She had made her home with her children after the death of her husband in March, 1931.
Mrs. Wolfe became a Christian in early life and at the time of her death held membership in the LaMonte Christian church.
Survivors are: four children, J.E. Wolfe of Ft. Scott, Kas., F.D. Wolfe of Green Ridge; C.F. Wolfe of Clinton,; and Mrs. Mollie Shaw of La Monte; a sister, Mrs. Clara Garber, 818 East Ninth street, Sedalia; 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. One son died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at La Monte Christian church at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Harvey J. Smith, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Wesley Hampton, Methodist pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the La Monte cemetery.
