Marjorie M. Furbee, 90 , formerly of Mannington, and Hillsboro, Ohio, and more recently of Mother Angeline McCrory Manor in Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday (May 30, 2007) in Columbus.
She was born in Tyler County, on Oct. 3, 1916, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Dolly (Shoup) McCord.
She was united in marriage on Aug. 9, 1933, in Oakland, Md, to Howard R. Furbee, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mary Heldreth, Jane Hoover; her brother, Robert McCord; and grandson, Brian Hoover.
She is survived by her sons, Howard (JoEllen) Furbee of Springfield, Ohio, James (Shirley) Furbee of Hillsboro, Ohio, Robert Furbee of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Patricia (Harry) Ashburn of Piqua, Ohio, Carolyn Sue Hawkes of Piqua, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Ohio. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mannington Memorial Park in Mannington.
Friends may call today from 10:30 till 11:30 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, 241 East Main St., Hillsboro, Ohio.
Memorials may be made to Mannington Methodist Church, 128 Clarksburg St., Mannington, WV 26582.
