Ola June Pegoda Smith went to be with our Lord Sunday evening, February 5, 2012.

June was born in Huntsville, Texas on July 22, 1929, to George F. and Gertie Edwards Pegoda. She grew up there, where she attended Huntsville Public Schools, and Sam Houston State University. On February 27, 1948, she married the love of her life, Frank Smith.

June was involved in the community through her work for the Walker County Agricultural Agent's office and the Walker County 4H Horse Club with her two children, Kathy and Bobby. Later, she continued her public service by working for the local welfare office. In addition to being a voracious reader, after retirement, she and Frank enjoyed traveling. Enjoying each other and the country. June had another hobby known only to a few. She enjoyed drawing and painting.

June was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Catlin and husband Bob; her son Bobby Smith and wife Donna; granddaughters, Amy Tims, Debbie Acebo and Denise Hansen; great-grandsons Parker Williams and Tanner Hansen.

June's burial was Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Bath Cemetery.
