Son of Henry de Percy, the 3rd Lord Percy and Lady Mary Plantagenet, the daughter of Henry Plantagenet and the grand daughter of Edward Crouchback.
Thomas sided with his brother, Henry the Baron de Percy, and his son, Henry Hotspur, in supporting Richard II after Edward III died, then turned against Richard to support Henry Bolingsbroke, the son of John of Gaunt, who became Henry IV, King of England. Once again, all three men turned again, and supported Mortimer against Henry. Thomas and Henry Hotspur were captured, executed and beheaded in the Battle of Shrewsbury, July 23, 1403, their heads displayed at London Bridge. Henry would later be captured and beheaded in the Battle of Branham, 1408.
