Henry Bean's parents were Thomas Bean and his wife, Elizabeth (Osgood) Bean.

Henry Bean married Martha Marston on November 25, 1834 in Brownfield, Oxford County, Maine.

Henry and Martha had nine children. In addition to the six children linked below, they also had the following three children, all born in Brownfield, Oxford County, Maine:
George Henry Bean, born February 21, 1841;
Martha Ann Bean, born January 21, 1851; and
Almira (or Myra Jane) Bean, born August 29, 1853.

Henry and Martha are listed on the September 30, 1850 with seven of their children, living in Brownfield, Oxford County, Maine. The 1860 Census lists them still living in the same town. Henry died March 16, 1861, and Martha continued to live in Brownfield, appearing there on the August 1, 1870 Census living with two of their children, Paris and Almira, and also living next door to another son, Osborn, and his family. Martha passed away herself in December 1874.
