Mount Vernon ~~ Jarrod A. Chrisman, 23, of 1100 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, died May 6, 2003 at his residence.

He was born September 14, 1979, in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church and was a graduate of East Knox High School and the Knox County Career Center in 1998.

He is survived by his parents, Rodney and Susie Chrisman of Bladensburg; a daughter, Madison O'Brien of Mount Vernon; a brother, Jason (Amber) Chrisman of St. Louisville; a sister, Janelle Chrisman of Mount Vernon; paternal grandmother, Mary Coakley of Bladensburg; maternal grandfather, Herbert Ashcraft of Newark; special friends, Joni and Logan Hart.

Friends called on Friday May 9, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the North-Dilley funeral Home, where the funeral was held on Saturday May 10 at 11 a.m. Pastor Jerry Moore officiated. Jarrod was put to rest in the Bladensburg Cemetery.

**Jarrod died of a single gunshot wound to the chest at his residence on Coshocton Ave. by Andrew McManis, who plead guilty to having shot him. He was sentenced to 15 years to life with an additional three years for a firearm specification after pleading guilty on September 30, 2003. Sentencing was held unplanned after the guilty plea was entered by the Judge Otho Eyster. McManis was also ordered to pay all funeral costs and medical costs incurred by the Chrisman family.
