He lead a heroic effert in the infantcy of computers that lead to the development and standardnization of electronic hospital computer information systems ( HCIS ) used in world wide hospitals today. He was a civil war buff and liked to collect things from the civil war era and had a room in his home they called the civil war room where he kept his collection. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a good friend. He is missed and loved a lot.


Joseph Timothy "Ted" O'Neill, age 79 of Frederick, MD died on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Husband of Lynn (Erickson) O'Neill. Ted was a loving husband for 52 years, a father of six and grandfather of ten to whom he dedicated his life. Ted was a tireless public servant whose heroic efforts in the infancy of the computer revolution led to the development and standardization of the electronic Hospital Computer Information Systems (HCIS), now used in hospitals worldwide today. A memorial service will be held at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701 on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 12 noon. Interment private. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784 or to the Tourette Syndrome Association of the greater Washington, 1398 Lamberton Drive, Suite 204, Silver Spring, MD 20902.
