ARGYLE -- Thomas D. Herbold, 75, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., on Nov. 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Harry and Pauline (Klotz) Herbold.
Tom grew up in Lake Purdy and attended Somers Central School.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in December 1959, and served his country for six years.
On Nov. 23, 1974, Tom married Bobbie Kraft at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill. The couple moved to Argyle, where they spent numerous years as dairy farmers and raised their family.
Among the many accomplishments Tom had, he was most proud of owning and operating Snow Valley (later known as Jubilee Stables) in Fishkill, N.Y., was proud to be affiliated with Teamsters, loved to ride his Harley and made many trips cross-country with it, and he had an amazing ability to fix anything, but above all, he adored his children and grandchildren.
Tom had a big, generous personality that will be missed by all.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his wife, Bobbie Herbold, in 2006.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Kimberly McCorkle and her husband, Kurt, of Ridgecrest, Calif., Heather Herbold and her fiance, Joe DioDate, of Hopewell Junction, David Herbold and his wife, Kim, of Greenwich, Lori McKernon and her husband, Ryan, of Argyle, and Michael Herbold and his fiancee, Amy Harris, of Argyle, his grandchildren: Gina, Alia, Cameron, Logan, Skyler, Kolbey, Kolyn, Kaylee, Liam, Dilyn and Sean; a brother, Harry "Bud" Herbold and his wife, Annabelle, of Queensbury, an aunt, Shirley Audenino of Pine Plains, N.Y., a mother-in-law, Gloria Kraft of Hopewell Junction, and a sister-in-law, Ellen Hockman and her husband, Bill, and their son, Matt, of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
