"Ethel UNDERWOOD, 83, of 1020 18th St., Columbus, died today at Doctors Hospital. // The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, with burial in Parkhill Cemetery. // Mrs. UNDERWOOD was born Sept. 25, 1900, in Chattahoochee County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. O'PRY. She had lived in Columbus since 1941 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and the widow of C. L. UNDERWOOD. // Survivors include a son, Lewis UNDERWOOD of Columbus; three sisters, Cassie GLOSS, Lois JOHNSON and Mrs. Lester [Annie Lou] SPINKS, all of Columbus; eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews."
