Jerry lived all his life in Richmond, retiring from Eaton Gear after 35 years of service and was also a greeter at Wal-Mart. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving as an engineer. He was a member of Kirk Little VFW Post #1108.
Jerry was a member of a non-denominational church and loved the Lord. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchild and the company of his best friends: Clint C. Wolfe Sr. and John Terhaar.
He is survived by his four children: Lou Ann Revalee, Deborah Toney, Jerry D. Toney Jr., all of Richmond and Jamie (John) Terhaar of Williamsburg; three grandchildren: Robert (Angela) Howard of Gilbert, AZ, Jerry D. Toney III of Richmond and Shannon (Clint) Wolfe of Centerville; eight great grandchildren: Tabitha Vargo of Richmond, Alana Toney and Mekala Akers of Laurel, Jonathon Terhaar of Williamsburg, Clint Wolfe II of Centerville and Trinity, Liberty and Hope Howard of AZ; a great-great grandchild, Sophie Vargo of Richmond; four brothers: Larry (Jean) Toney and Jim Toney both of Brownsville, Carey Toney of Middletown and Nathan Toney of KY; six sisters: Ann Eliason and Sarah Hollingsworth both of Richmond, Nancy Marsh of FL and Linda Scott of AL, Dixie Knecht of AZ and Judith Toney of Brownsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Sherald Toney in 1992; his parents; three brothers: Tom, Bob and Simeon Toney; and three sisters: Imogene Jones, Mary Fox and Charlotte Urwiller.
Services and Veteran Honors will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Howard officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. til the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Elkhorn Cemetery.
