She was the current principal at Fremont Elementary School. Trine graduated from Alisal High School at the age of 16 1/2, and attended Hartnell where she received her AA degree. She obtained her BA at San Jose State University, and received her masters degree from LaVerne University in Southern California. She has since received numerous educational awards throughout the years. Trine always said she was not a mother, but she had 800 children, all from Fremont School. She loved and cherished her family and loved to travel. Trine loved life to the fullest and refused to give in to her nine year battle with cancer. She always was willing to lend a helping hand when asked. She was a loving, giving, and sharing person. Trine's mother was a very influential person in her life. Trine will live on in our hearts and minds forever.
Trine is survived by her husband of five years, Jose; a step-daughter, Vanessa Salas and Fernando of Soledad; step-son, Jaime and Lupe Salas of Gonzales; her mother, Raquel Rodriquez of Salinas; her brothers, Ray Rodriquez and Suzanne Nunez of Salinas, and Jerry and Pauline Rodriquez of Oakdale. She also leaves seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Trine was preceded in death by her father, Ray Rodriquez; her aunt, Perla Padilla, and her uncle, Chencho Padilla.
Visitation will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, at Healey Mortuary and from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church. A Rosary will be conducted Friday at 7:00 p.m., at the church.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at the church.
Burial will follow at the Castroville District Cemetery in Moss Landing.
