Schenck -- Frederick Schenck, a well known farmer, of Howard Twp., died last Thursday as the result of gangrene. Several months ago a horse stepped on his foot causing an injury which resulted in gangrene. He was 79 years, 3 months and 8 days old, a son of Christian and Lydia Schenck, and was born near Howard. He married Miss Amanda Beck in 1880 who preceded him to the grave. He is survived by one son, Christian B. Schenck, and a sister Mary B. Schenck. He was a member of the Reformed church and an elder for twenty-five years. The funeral was held at two o'clock on Sunday afternoon. Rev. O.L. Moyer had charge of the services and burial was made in the Schenck cemtery. -- Democratic Watchman, 16Apr1926
