Beryl Butler Fergurson of Cotulla, entered into rest on Saturday, October 22, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 75 years. Beryl was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 15, 1930 to Steven Dennis and Ethel Lynn Morris Butler. In 1960 she moved to Cotulla with her husband Bitsy Ackerman who worked for Southwestern Bell. He preceded her in death in 1967. Beryl worked for the Cotulla Chamber of Commerce for many years before retiring in 1970. She worked as secretary for the late County Judge Bob Coquat. In 1971 she married Bobby Fergurson who preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors include her son Bill Ackerman and wife Sharon of Flatonia; daughter Bonnie Ackerman of Cotulla; sister Lynn Denise Hemerly of Corpus Christi; grandchildren Randi Boleman and husband Chris, Steven Ackerman and wife Clarissa, Jason Ackaerman and wife Misti, and Gary Marburger, Jr.; 2 great-grandchildren. Services were held Monday, October 24, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cotulla with Rev. Mac McKinney, officiating. Interment followed in the Cotulla West Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Lee Peters, Bobby Hart, Andy Landrum, Eloy Zertuche, Stan Peters and Jimmy Daniel. Honorary pallbearers were: Jack Curtis, Kenneth Cox, Chevis Amick, Jim Javens, Lacey Haywood, Bill Cotulla, Bill Northway and Carl Hart. Arrangements under the direction of the Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
