Elizabeth Lowery Hunt, 84, died Oct. 15, 1999, at her residence.
Born in Princess Anne County, she attended Mary Washington College. She and her husband, George Carr Hunt, were the former owners of Hunt Contracting Corp., where she worked for 42 years. Mrs. Hunt was a founding member of the American Cut Glass Association. She was predeceased by her husband and her parents, Charlotte Herbert Lowery and John E. Lowery.
Survivors include a niece, Charlotte M. Mitchell of Portsmouth; a nephew, Eugene R. McDannald Jr. of Perry, Ga.; and numerous other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Ted Bashford. The family will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Haven Children's Home, 3000 N. Landing Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling arrangements.
