Brother Of Local Woman Passes Away
George W. Byrum, 72, retired farmer, died Wednesday afternoon at his home, two miles northeast of Portland. He had been ill two years.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Carl Jones, of Fort Recovery; two sons, Howard, at home, and Robert, of Portland; one sister, Mrs. Della Onkst, of Union City, and three granddaughters. Two sisters and a brother are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in the Baird mortuary in Portland. Burial will be in Lisbon cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Mr. Byrum was born at Union City, Ind., on March 7, 1876, the son of Thomas and Martha (Jessup) Byrum. On July 5, 1902 he was married to Minnie Murray, who preceded him in death in June of 1944.
