(October 5, 1925 - May 10, 2011)

Kirby West Winfield Kirby West, 85, died May 10, 2011 after a brief illness. Kirby was born October 4, 1925 to John Marvin and Dolly May West. On April 2, 1953 he married the love of his life, Jean Sell. Kirby was retired from farming and working as a heavy equipment operator. He was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a member in good standing with the Stockton Masonic Hall and Springfield Shrine Temple. He lived 51 years on his farm in Stockton. During that time he was a good neighbor and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brother Kyle Thomas West, Sisters Geraldine McMasters and Levernice Witt. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean; 2 daughters Beth West, Vicki and spouse Mike Hanson; 3 grand-daughters Sarah and spouse Dan Greenstreet, Andrea and spouse Tommy Ferwalt, Monica and spouse Jake Crouch; 8 great-grandchildren, brother Rex and spouse Jeanette West; sister Marietta Shoemaker; 16 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Kirby found his joy in the simple things of life. He loved the out of doors and farming. He was a doting grandfather and thought his great-grandchildren were the best. He was a lifetime fisherman. After retirement he spent many summer days at the "Fishing Camp" with family and friends.

Lord grant that I might fish until my dying day, And when it's time for my last cast, I humbly pray. When in your landing net I'm peacefully asleep, That in your mercy I be judged as good enough to keep.

Services will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in Brumback Funeral Home with burial in Stockton Cemetery.

Visitation Friday at 7:00 PM
