This is my grandpa, which I unfortunately never made known to.
He was born in Metz/Lothringen/Germany (now Lothringen belongs to France) and died already with 32 years.
He married my grandma Maria Theobald in 1936 and later, they had 3 children. Because they were three girls, he often told of his "Dreimädelhaus" which means in english, that there is a house where three girls are living in.
His hobby was playing handball and he is described as a very sociably man, good husband and father. He fought in worldwar II and came home unharmed.
In 1947 - the war was over - Germany was destroyed and the people being hungry and without having jobs, he was with two other guys on a grain field for searching grain for his family.
That was not allowed, but who did care about allowed or forbidden in those times?
Suddenly a policeman appears and without advance warning or even a license, he did shoot at my grandpa three times. He died on the way to hospital and left my grandma with her three 4, 6, and 10 year old girls.
