A graduate of Guilford College and UNCG, she also attended Columbia University where she studied Music Education. She was a retired music teacher with the Greensboro City Schools. She was a member of the Euterpe Club, president of the Greensboro Women's Club, member of the Biblical Research Club, and member of the Round Table Study Club. Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wood. Surviving are nine nieces and nephews."
