I, Lettie Jane Lamm, of the county of Wilson and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind, but considering the uncertainty of life, do hereby make and declare this to be my last and testament hereby revoking and declaring null and void all other wills and testaments heretofore made by me.
FIRST: My Executor, hereinafter names, shall give my body a decent burial and erect a suitable tombstone or monument at my grave, collect all debts due my estate, and out of the first monies, coming into his hands, belonging to my estate, he shall pay all of my just debts, funeral expenses, and the cost of the administration of my estate.
SECOND: I give and bequeath to Ben Ward the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00).
THIRD: I give, devise and bequeath to Joe Eva Epps, wife of Thomas Epps, and her children, and the issue of those that may be dead all the balance of my property of every description, both real and personal, including all monies, notes, household and kitchen furniture, chose-in-action, and also including my tract of land of Cross Roads township, Wilson County, North Carolina, adjoining the lands of Stephen Tedder, Jim Parrish, David Ferrell, Larry Lucas, and others, containing thirty-four (34) acres, more or less, it being the same land conveyed by W. D. Burnam and wife to Lettie Jane Lamm by deed dated November 27, 1911 and recorded in Book 85, Page 354 Wilson County Registry, to which deed reference is made for a more definite description.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD to them, the said Joe Eva Epps for and during the term of her natural life and no longer, and after her death to her children in fee. In the event of the death of either of her children leaving issue, then such issue is to take the share that would have gone to the parent.
FOURTH: I hereby constitute and appoint my friend, W. R. Davis, my lawful executor, to all intents and purposes, to execute this my last will and testament, according to the true intent and meaning to the same, and every part and clause thereof.
